Beeswax

Beeswax is the wax secreted by bees to make honeycombs and used in a multitude of applications within the food, pharmaceutical and industrial industries.

Sudan’s quality is considered among the most desirable due its unadulterated nature in terms of no foreign additives or paraffin additives to create a lighter/ purer colour. Beeswax has long-standing applications in human food and flavouring, and is used as a glazing agent, a sweetener, or as a light/heat source among others. It is edible, in the context of having similar negligible toxicity to plant waxes, and is approved for food use and sold under the E number E901 in Europe.
